Where is the real winter?

This winter does not meet our expectations of a "real" winter. Instead of long periods of cold and a closed snow cover, the weather is very variable. At our test site in Fendt there was hardly any snow this winter. But fog and hoarfrost also lead to interesting winter impressions.

Our long-term measurements at the TERENO sites at different altitudes will show whether this unsettled winter also affects the fluxes of trace gases such as nitrous oxide (N2O).
