Start of new fertilisation experiments

In the second phase of SUSALPS we investigate the effects of alternative slurry management on the nitrogen use efficiency and nitrogen losses. We want to answer the following questions:

• Can the plants absorb more nitrogen from the slurry through a different treatment of the slurry?
• Can the gaseous and liquid nitrogen losses be reduced by a different slurry management?

In our experiments, we are testing the effects of slurry acidification and slurry spreading using slot technology. The first slurry application with the new test design took place on 10 April 2019.
