Round Table on “Grassland management & Climate Change” received broad interest

The first Round Table on „Grassland management & Climate Change“ took place at IMK-IFU on 18th July 2017. More than 30 participants from agricultural practice and consultancies, authorities and science discussed the effects of climate change and of political and societal factors on soil fertility, species composition and productivity. The knowledge exchange showed that already today higher temperatures and extended dry spells impact the farmers’ grassland management. Apart from climate change impacts the farmers have to respond to altered political constraints in order to adapt quickly and make complex decision for proper management strategies. The participants expressed their interest to continue the knowledge exchange.
